Finance deals with Finance
here are many similarities in the finance cluster. First off, they all deal with money. Secondly, most of these jobs are indoor jobs while most jobs in ag are outside. Finally, most finance jobs use a lot of advanced math. Like algebra, calculus, and statistics. Three differences are your job environment. You could sit in front of a computer all day or maybe interview people for loan eligibility. Another difference is where you work. You could work for a bank or maybe be an accountant for a company. The third difference is your paycheck. A bank teller on makes $24k a year, while an accountant makes $70k a year. So there is a big pay difference in the Finance cluster. I have learned a lot as far as career pathways this week. I know FOR SURE that I do not want to work in the Finance industry considering I enjoy being outside. I am also not into numbers on a huge scale.

Government and Public Administration
My two careeres were Mapping Technican and Postmasters and Mail Superindendant. They are similar by the fact that in both jobs you are government employed. Also both careers require a bachelor's degree. In both jobs you need a lot of knowledge in government regulation and public safety. That goes for any job when you work for the government. Both careers have the same working values. Independence, support, and working conditions. In both jobs you are in charge of those around you, be supportive of those around you, and work in and outside. I would enjoy mapping technican because you are outside surveying the land, so you have to be a little hands on. The downside of the Postmaster gig is it is -10% in job opening. So good luck finding a job.

This week flaskback
Well this week we went off thw beaten path a little. First on Monday we did two Education and Traing careers. Tuesday we got a little cray cray and shared for the first time in a while. We did this because sharing is important but it just takes forever. Wednesday we finished sharing and did one career in Agriculture. Thursday we did the opposite true color career. We did this to see the opposite career pathway we needed to take to become a true color we are not. Once we see what we need to do for our opposite, it should be easier to pick our real one. And Friday we caught up on everything and finished ag.

Arts,AV Technology and Communications
I researched Painting,Coating, and Decorating Worker. It is a pretty basic job actually. I paint and decorate articles like furniture, glass, pottery, jewelry, or plateware. I apply paint or primer to decorate the workpiece surface. I also read customer orders and do what they ask, or do touchup work on antiques. This job requires 6 months on the job training and a high school diploma. I'm sure you could go to a vocational school for art bu that is not neccasary. I make $17 dollars an hour and $27k a year in the geneal US. It is projected 3-9% growth.
My other career was Radio Announcer. I basically read promos, news reports, and scripted materials. I host talk shows or interview guests while following an outline of what I am suppost to be saying. (Not a word for word script) I read news flashes, comment on current events, and discuss what is going on in the community with audience or guest. The education required is a 2 year degree in broadcasting and I make an average is $14 dollars an hour-$28k a year. This could vary depending on what radio station you work for and how large your audience is.

True Colors results
It turns out I am a Green-19 and Blue-19. So blue means I enjoy helping others and I am a very good listner. I like to be with people and always consider their opinions. My tie with blue was green. Which means I seek knowledge and understanding. Also I work best by myself and am seen as a loner to some. My second place color was orange. I can see my orange characteristics pop up in my mind all the time. I am very witty and I tend not to write down my work in homework. I like to do things in my head and quickly. Whenever I am hanging out with friends Im always up for a good time, (even if it might be not a good idea) but I know when to draw the line in the sand. So to sum it up I like to be with people and know what they think, but at the same time I enjoy me-time and am very laid-back. Also there is some orange sprinkled in there for a good time.

Personality Colors
Blue: I think the best example of a blue is Mrs. Propst. She is alwasys caring how you are doing. If you need help, she would drop everything to help you. Also, Mrs. Propst is very emotional and sentimental.
Green: I think Mr. Happ fits the green section. He is super logical and good at math. I swear he knows everything. Whether it be math, science, history, or random knowledge. Also he is pretty funny.
Gold: Mr. Boyars is a good example of a gold member. He is always aiming for perfection and being on time. And will do anything to finish what he started. Also he likes everything neat and clean around the classroom.
Orange:I think Mrs. Rigdon is a orange person. She gets superexcited when we learn something, then plans a test over it. Also she is very loud and all over the place. ES OBVIO
Blue: Abby is a good example of a blue person. She is super nice to everyone, without over doing it and being creepy.
Green:Braden is a definite green. even though he may lack logic, a little, he is pretty smart. He also is funny in my opinion. Also he knows a lot of random knowledge that serves no purpose.
Gold: Griifin is a 100% gold. He stresses out about tests and if he doesnt finish his homework. He also likes things neat and clean.
Orange: Hannah is an orange person. Now matter what we are doing she is always having fun with it.

One of the careers I did was a Transportation Manager. So basically I would plan, direct, or coordinate the routes of a transportation company. So CSX, UPS, Fed Ex are some examples of companies I could work for. The skills needed are math, geography, reading comprehension, critical thinking, coordenation, and active listening. For this job you need a 4 year degree.
My other career was a Farm and Ranch Manager. I recorded all of the buisness side of things instead of the Ag stuff. I would plan, direct and manage farms, ranches, or greenhouses. I would also carry out the financial side of things that comes from running a farm. My skills would include animal science, biology, plant science, anatomy, buisness management, marketing, and sales. The ed required is a 2yr degree in animal/plant science and a 2yr degree in buisness management.
